Commonplace

"Commonplaces are a way to compile knowledge, usually by writing information into books. Such books are essentially scrapbooks filled with items of every kind: recipes, quotes, letters, poems, tables of weights and measures, proverbs, prayers, legal formulas. Commonplaces are used by readers, writers, students, and scholars as an aid for remembering useful concepts or facts they have learned. Each commonplace book is unique to its creator's particular interests." -Wikipedia-

Some of us will be in Boston for the annual AWP conference, and some of us wish we were going, too. If you're one of the faithful making the pilgrimage, don't forget to look up our friend Zach Rogow. Details from his blog, Advice for Writers:

Zack Rogow will be speaking at a panel at AWP, "What Poets Learn When They Translate," on Friday, March 8 from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m., room 204, level 2. He'll also be signing copies of his newest book of poems, My Mother and the Ceiling Dancers, on Saturday, March 9, from noon to 1:15 at the Kattywompus Press table, booth 1111.

Tell him "hi" for the rest of us poor slobs, won't you?

I wish I could see you all at AWP. I did get to attend last year's conference where I learned a great deal and heard amazing readings. I have to save my money for baby supplies, so I'll have to skip AWP this year. Miss you all!

It would be awesome if those of you who attended the Boston AWP Conference would post your favorite highlights.
