Commonplace

"Commonplaces are a way to compile knowledge, usually by writing information into books. Such books are essentially scrapbooks filled with items of every kind: recipes, quotes, letters, poems, tables of weights and measures, proverbs, prayers, legal formulas. Commonplaces are used by readers, writers, students, and scholars as an aid for remembering useful concepts or facts they have learned. Each commonplace book is unique to its creator's particular interests." -Wikipedia-

First of all, mentors are amazing! Zack Rogow is my 2012-2013 mentor and has sent me links to his blog that offers advice for writers. His blog entries are like mini-lessons and have helped me with experimenting in form and with reading texts closely. Even if your focus is outside the poetry genre, Zack's blog could benefit you as well. You can visit his blog at:

If any of the other professors write blogs, please, share them with us on Commonspace.

Thanks,
Lisa
